WHEN IS IT ? The Gateway Programme began in the South Waikato in 2004. Gateway runs throughout the school year.

WHO IS IT FOR ? Senior High School students who are motivated, have a positive attitude, and are enrolled with one of the three South Waikato High Schools.

WHAT IS IT ? Structured, practical Unit based learning integrated and tailored to suit individual student needs.

WHERE IS IT ? At school, and in a variety of workplaces in the South Waikato Community.

WHY HAVE IT ? To provide senior students with practical experience and support while exploring possible career and work options, and also the opportunity to gain Industry units in their area of interest.

HOW DOES IT WORK ? The selected students spend a pre-arranged period of time in placement with a designated employer. The students are expected to gain at least 20 Credits during their placement.
