The South Waikato Education Centre Trust is owner and custodian of the Braeside Campus, a 3.8 hectare site in Braeside Avenue, Tokoroa.
The campus grounds were gifted to the local community in 1989 for the provision of education. Since that time a number of tertiary training
providers have used the site to offer a diverse range of training programs to the local community.
The site currently hosts Waiariki Institute of Technology’s Tokoroa Trade Training Centre, providing pre-apprenticeship training in engineering and construction skills.
Braeside Avenue (off SH32/Maraetai Road) is a fifteen minute walk from the CBD.
Although zoned industrial, the site is surrounded by park and rural areas, providing a quiet environment for learning. Food is available within a five minute walk from the campus.
The Trust has three buildings available for short or long-term lease. All buildings are unfurnished, but have phone/internet connectivity.
1. Building #3 (216 sq.m) has two large classrooms, one smaller tutorial room, and an office. The classrooms are suitable for 15-20 students, with office space for two staff. Has ceiling heaters and access for disabled. Toilets are available in nearby buildings.
2. Building #2 (150 sq.m) has one large classroom configured as a computing suite for ten students. Prospective tenants would have to provide their own computing hardware, but the room is wired for network connectivity.
The building also has a separate theory classroom, two offices, one walk-in secured storeroom, kitchen area and two toilets.
3. Building #4 (150 sq. m) has one large classroom area, a smaller classroom, two offices, kitchen, one toilet with shower, and one toilet with disability access.
